About James
Hello and welcome to my blog! This is where I post some of my thoughts, experiences and observations of the world as I see it.
Primarily these are thoughts about leadership, a subject I have been interested in for years.
Questions that I use to guide my study, research and practice include:
- What makes someone a great leader?
- Why do some people become great leaders while others do not?
- What can an individual do to become a great leader?
- How can an organisation institutionalize leadership development?
Reasons for this blog:
- To have a place where I can share some of my ideas with whoever wants to listen.
- To invite feedback from others on said ideas.
- The act of communicating my thoughts with others will force me to really clarify those thoughts. Anything that I’m not completely sure about will become very evident as I steam forward.
Blog guidelines:
- Quality > Quantity.
Over my lifetime I have had the good luck to watch and study many different styles of leader and it was this that initially interested me in the subject.
James started his first business (A candy-bar stall) while he was still at high-school. After leaving school he started and ran an internet centre and a web-development business. He is a member of his local chapter of Toast Masters and is currently preparing to go to university to study business and finance.
